Nanos Plateau is a popular mountain biking destination, since it offers many biking trails hidden among flowery meadows and mighty birch forests. Meeting in Wajdušna we journey through upper Vipava Valley in the direction of Vipava. When we arrive in Vrhpolje, where according to historical data the epic battle of Roman emperors Theodosius and Eugenius took place and christianity defeated paganism, we embark on a long ascent to the heart of Nanos Plateau. Our next stop is at the Abram tourist farm where we will have lunch and regain our strenght for the journey ahead. Continuing on we reach the Nanos peak (1313m) which offers breath-taking views of Karst, Adriatic Sea reaching all the way to Croatia. Final part of the route includes a descent down a dirt road to Vipava and scenic ride through lush vineyards back to the starting point.
